Medicine Bags

The Medicine Bag is a Native American vessel traditionally used by Medicine Men and Women of a tribe to hold objects which they use for purposes such as healing and blessing ceremonies and as personal medicine. A Medicine Bag may contain objects such as stones, crystals, feathers, herbs, seeds, kernels of corn, and other objects of meaning for the bearer. Each object is considered sacred as each is believed to possess a spirit that may be called upon to aid in healing, protecting, enlightening, etc. – whichever medicine is needed. As they are holders of these spirits, Medicine Bags are very powerful vessels and are treated with great respect by the bearer and all who come into contact with it.
